Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State has promised to be more forceful in the execution of projects that will improve the lives of the people of the state in the New Year.
The governor made the promise in his New Year message.
He said although the government had achieved much in the previous year in the areas of health, economic, social and educational development among others, it could not afford to rest on its oars.
He said in the New Year, his government would do more.
His words: “To build on these milestones and birth a self-sufficient economic Bauchi State, we cannot rest on our oars. This year, we shall be more audacious and implement bolder ideas in education, health, commerce and of course tourism.

“We shall contribute our best to ensure Nigeria’s food security problems are minimised. We shall position our state as the headquarters of tourism in Sub-Saharan Africa. We shall be known for excellence.”
The governor enjoined the people of the state to continue to support it in the march for an emerging Bauchi.
He said he wanted a state where citizens’ lives would be totally transformed for the better in general.
“More than ever, we need to, as a people, take our economic destiny in our hands and fashion out a collective future,” he said.
Governor Abubakar added: “On behalf of my family, the great people of Bauchi State and my humble self, I say have a superlative 2018.”
