The recent enforcement on the ban on commercial motorcycles and tricycles which took effect on Saturday, will affect an estimated 13,000 jobs across the state.
Independent findings revealed that from the organised motorbikes operating companies like Max Okada, O’Pay, Gokada with their motorbikes of 200cc and above and other independent ones with lesser capacities, 9,000 persons would be taken off the roads.
Also affected are an estimated 4000 tricycles, popularly called Keke Napep.
While regular commuters made long treks to work and business places on Monday, there was an expected glut in areas where the tricycles are allowed to operate as more operators vacating restricted areas, joined their colleagues on approved routes.

Meanwhile, the Lagos Bus Services Limited (LBSL) has listed new routes and fares where it would deploy buses to operate.
Affected areas like Apapa, with lesser motorable roads due to disrepair and on-going construction works, were not listed in the new routes of service by LBSL.
According to LBSL, Oshodi-Ajah route is N500; Obalende-Ajah, N250; CMS-Ajah, N250; Inner Marina- Ajah,N250; Ikeja-Ogba, N100; Ikeja-Ijora, N100 and Berger- Ogba, N100.
