Born on October 10, 1960, in Ilu Ola, Kwara State, Orisabunmi went to Ilu Ola Primary School and Secondary Commercial College. .

Actor, Jide Kosoko, who confirmed her death to The PUNCH on Wednesday, expressed grief.

Kosoko said, “No doubt, Folake was a thoroughbred actress. She was an amazon in the industry and we respected and valued her for her contribution. She gave her all to her career and she was recognised for her worth.”

The  President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan, popularly called Baba Latin, said Orisabunmi died late Tuesday night.

Her death came months after the demise of her former husband, Jimoh Aliu, (Aworo), under whose tutelage she rose to prominence in the film industry.

Meanwhile, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State described Orisabunmi’s as the end of a glorious era in the theatre industry.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that AbdulRazaq stated this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, on Wednesday in Ilorin.

“Her pacifist roles and the bravery she exuded in most of her appearances were quite legendary and will be sorely missed,” the statement quoted AbdulRazaq as saying.

He described Orisabunmi as one of the ‘last men standing’ in the tradition she represented in Nollywood.

Also, actor Yemi Shodimu said that the late actress was a good woman with a large heart and had left a huge vacuum in the entertainment.

“This is too much of a shock for me. She was not just a notable artiste, she had left her foot prints on the sand of time.

Also, Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello,  who became emotional while speaking with NAN said, “Please, I am sorry, I cannot comment now, it is a painful loss.”
