He said 333 suspected cases of Yellow Fever were recorded out of which 20 were confirmed with 17 dead and another 19 suspected cases.

He said that part of the strategies adopted by the agency to curtail the spread of the virus was engaging local government chairman in Alkaleri to direct all Village and District heads and all concerned to enlighten the people about the vaccination.

He explained that only Alkaleri local government area has confirmed cases of Yellow Fever because of its high population of monkeys and chimpanzees vectors for the disease.

Muhammed revealed that the agency had embarked on outdoor spraying of lava sites and indoor spraying and fumigation including aerial spray of all the affected communities.
