Wife Of Borno Governor Presents Xmas Gifts To Christian Widows, Less Privileged

The wife of Borno Governor, Hajiya Falmata Umara-Zulum, on Friday donated food items to Christian widows and vulnerable persons in Maiduguri.

Distributing the items, Mrs Zulum said the gesture is to identify with the less privileged to enable them celebrate Christmas with ease.

Mrs Zulum, who was represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Zuwaira Gambo, said the gifts were to promote a sense of belonging, passion, love and unity to fellow Christians as they prepare to mark the Christmas day celebration.

She said that each of the beneficiaries was given a 25-kg bag of rice, one gallon of cooking oil as well as undisclosed amount of cash.

Mrs Rebecca Ishaya, one of the beneficiaries, thanked Mrs Zulum for identifying with the less privileged in the society. (NAN)
