He explained that the socio-economic impact the seaport would attract to the state, if pursued and achieved, would be enormous.
The Chairman, House Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), emphasised that the seaport would turn around the fortune of the state from a civil-service state to a huge commercial hub in the nation.
He disclosed that he personally approached the ministry to know the extent to which the processing of the documentation had got to and was encouraged by the progress achieved.
According to Tunji-Ojo, the seaport would serve the Southeastern part of the nation, which he said, has only dry ports and some other parts of the nation.
