Beauty, they say, is in the eye of the beholder. One man’s meat is another man’s poison. The list of related idioms or wise saying goes on and on. The crux of the matter is what is good for you may not necessarily be good enough for me. Ditto for other people. You may like them slim and lanky, I may prefer a little more ‘body’ here and there. That’s the beauty of you being you and me being me. And you doing your own things and me doing my own things. That’s the beauty of life, which is embedded in freedom.
Now, what body type do you prefer? It sounds a little crazy, but that’s the reality. Some people may not want to openly admit that they have a body type in mind when they go hunting or chasing their dream people just in a bid not to appear insensitive but the fact remains everyone has a particular body type they look out for. As much as we would like to think that we look at what’s inside, the outward appearance is what first gets one’s attention. The tall, dark and handsome spec still exists for the ladies and the slim and curvy still exists for the guys. You know what, it still depends on your choice!
The Next Edition hit the streets and narrowed down the search for the young ones. The debate was between fat and slim. Here are excerpts:
Ben Akan, Business man
“I prefer a slim body type. If you marry a slim lady, you can carry her. Sometimes if the person doesn’t control what she’s eating and gets too big she may drive the man outside. That slim body I don’t want bone o, there should be some form of attraction, that is, Manchester. You know what I mean.”
Sadiq Hassan, Writer
“I like someone that is fat in the right places, not too fat, not too slim. I like girls that are robust but moderate.”
Yvonne Henson, Store Manager
“I like my guys slim because they are easy to grab and they are not clumsy.”
Francis Johnson, Entrepreneur
“I prefer an athletic girl, not too fat or slim. Just fitted.”
Nneka Osuji, Graduate
“I don’t have a body type per say. I just like a medium built guy. No big tummy, but six packs is not a must.”
Bassey Ekpe, IT technician
“Guys will tell you they like a slim girl I’m the opposite. I like a heavy girl. There’s a lot to fill the hands and hold and to spare. I don’t want to be with someone I can fill her bones. I’m not sleeping with a man, am I?”
Anita Etim, Entrepreneur
“Give me a slim guy any day, any time. Have you seen how I am? If I pick a fat guy he will overshadow me! I want a slim guy. Not skinny o! There’s a difference.”
