The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Akwa Ibom State, Obong Nsima Ekere, says he will revive the moribund Quality Ceramics industry after he becomes Governor on May 29, 2019.
He equally promised to work with the Federal Government to revive the Nigerian Newsprint Manufacturing Company, NNMC, Oku Iboku, the largest paper mill in Africa before its closure many years ago.
Obong Ekere, who spoke during the APC governorship campaign rally at Mbak Atai, the Itu local government headquarters, on Tuesday, expressed delight with the huge turnout for the rally, which he described as an outstanding show of support.
He promised to conclusively resolve the lingering boundary dispute between Itu and Odukpani in Cross River State and save the people from further bloodshed.
The governorship candidate while decring the poverty level in the state, noted that he and his running mate, Dr. Amadu Attai, were on a rescue mission.

“Akwa Ibom State, our dear state, is all that we have. I know that myself and Dr. Amadu Attai represent the best option for the state for now. We believe that this state deserves much better than what it is getting today and we believe that we should turn things around,” he said.
The APC campaign team later paid homage to Edidem Edet Akpan Inyang, the Paramount Ruler of Itu, at his palace in Ayadehe where the royal father led his chiefs to pray for their success at the polls.
