The Flying Eagles of Nigeria, Monday night lost 2-1 to Senegal in the round of 16 clash at the FIFA U20 World Cup going on in Poland, thus ending the dream of many Nigerians of seeing the trophy brought home.

Nigerians, ever vocal, have taken to social media to vent; and many are of the view that the team that lost last night is “the worst flying eagles team” ever fielded by the country.

@midassoccer

“I was not surprised or expecting anything less from the Senegalese, The papa Flying Eagles don’t deserve to play a round of 16 game. The NFF board should be ashamed that they couldn’t get 21 football players under the age of 20 among 200 million people. Shame Shame Shame. “
