Two suspected kidnappers have been burnt dead on Friday at the kidnappers den located at Ile-Zik area, close to Ikeja, Lagos State.

The suspects were burnt by irate mob who stormed the place after its discovery on Thursday.

The crowd also set one of the tunnels on fire, moving afterwards to a nearby church.

The church was invaded and chairs vandalized.

The car of the pastor was also destroyed.

The police are having a hard time controlling the crowd.

It would be recalled that on Thursday, some policemen stormed the kidnappers’ den, arresting some of the suspects, three of who pretended to be lunatics.

They were taken to the nearby Isokoko Police Station at Isale Oja in Agege.

On Tuesday, a similar drama played out when four suspected kidnappers were fished out from their den discovered at Obadeyi-Ajala area of Ojokoro, Lagos State along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on Tuesday.

While two of the suspects were burnt by irate mob who gathered at the scene, two others were  whisked away by soldiers.

It took spirited efforts by the soldiers and the police to take them away as the mob was insistent on burning them alive.

The den – a canal and a nearby abandoned house – along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway was besieged by members of the public following the alarm raised by a highway sweeper with the Lagos State Waste Management Agency at about7.00 a.m.

The alarm by the LAWMA official followed the cry of a woman for help from the canal.

Following the bombardment of the canal, one of the suspected kidnappers was smoked out and burnt by the irate mob.

Another one who also tried to escape was caught despite the efforts of the police and soldiers around.

He was also burnt alive.

The security agents however succeeded in rescuing two who were taken away.
