The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday lifted the suspension on four of its members, who were suspended on Monday, March 9, 2020.
Announcing this during Thursday’s plenary session, Speaker of the House, Mr. Mudashiru Obasa, disclosed that the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) and the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, called a meeting on Tuesday to intervene in the crisis and directed that the House should reinstate the suspended lawmakers.
Obasa, however, did not state whether the two lawmakers removed from principal offices, Rotimi Abiru and Olumuyiwa Jimoh, who were removed as Chief Whip and Deputy Majority Leader respectively, would be reinstated or not.
The two other lawmakers affected by the suspension are Moshood Oshun representing Lagos Mainland Constituency II and Kazeem Raheem fro Ibeju/Lekki Constrtuency II.
Oshun and Raheem were suspended for alleged insubordination, gross misconduct and acts capable of destabilising the House.

At the meeting of the GAC held on Tuesday with the Speaker and four lawmakers, Tinubu and the GAC members present at the meeting, were said to have advised Obasa to lift the suspension in the interest of peace and harmony.
The party elders were also said to have urged the lawmakers to go back to their parliamentary caucus to iron out their differences, just as they advised them to liaise with the governor on modalities for crisis resolution.
The House of Assembly had been in the news in the last few weeks over the suspension of the four lawmakers.
After they were suspended, they and their aides were prevented from gaining access into the Assembly premises, as their offices were also sealed by the leadership of the House.
A committee was earlier set up to look at using internal mechanism to resolve the crisis but the committee was later disbanded by the Speaker after he decided that there was no going back on his decision.
