The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and another chieftain of the party, Chief Bisi Akande, met with President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday.
The meeting was held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja and it lasted about one hour.
The two politicians however refused to speak with State House correspondents after the meeting.
The meeting was held some hours after Nigeria’s former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, released a special statement which touched on critical issues concerning the nation.

It is not unlikely that the content of the letter was the basis of the meeting.
Of particular interest was the 2019 presidential election which Obasanjo advised President Muhammadu Buhari not to venture into.
Titled “The way out: A clarion call for Coalition for Nigeria Movement,” Obasanjo gave the reasons for his position as including the poor state of the economy and general hunger in the land.
He also spoke about the health of the president, warning that what he deserved was a good rest.
Obasanjo said the president should not listen to praise singers who might want him to continue in office for their own selfish means.
The former president also called for a new group, Coalition for Nigeria Movement, to bring out the nation from its present state of confusion.
