The awards ceremony, the 14th in the series, is scheduled to take place on December 9, 2019 at the main hall of the NECA House, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

Mr. Isine has won several awards for investigative journalism including the CNN/Multichoice African Journalist Award, the Rotary International Award for Humanitarian Reporting and a commendation by the Woke Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism.

The letter read:

Dear Isine Ibanga,

NOTICE OF SELECTION AS A FINALIST FOR 2019 WOLE SOYINKA AWARD

Congratulations, you have been selected as a finalist for the 14th Wole Soyinka Award for Investigative Reporting (WSAIR). You are therefore invited to attend the award presentation ceremony where winners will be announced, on Monday, 9th December by 6pm at the main hall of the NECA House, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

Your selection puts you in the league of the 91 Finalists the award has produced since inception in October 2005.

As you may be aware, the award presentation event is held annually on December 9, the World Anticorruption Day and eve of the Human Rights Day, to aid the development of an investigative reporting culture in the Nigerian media.

Ahead of the award presentation ceremony, the WSCIJ team will send you a mail detailing the protocol for the event.

Once again, congratulations!
