A member of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Mr. Ibi Hosea, was on Saturday kidnapped by some unknown gunmen.
The legislator, who represents Takum I in the state’s House of Assembly was abducted around 10 p.m.
The gunmen, three in number, were reported to have arrived Hosea’s mother’s residence, seized the handsets of all around before taking him away on a motorcycle.
The Taraba Police Command has on Sunday confirmed the abduction.

According to the command’s spokesman, Mr. David Misal said the legislator was kidnapped in Takum, his hometown.
“I can confirm to you that the lawmaker was kidnapped last night in Takum. That is all I can tell you for now,” Misal said.
He however said that the police had begun a move to rescue Hosea.
NAN reports that Takum is also the hometown of the state governor, Darius Ishaku, who is celebrating the New Year in the town.
