The Supreme Court has upheld the elections of Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as Governor of Bauchi State and Simon Lalong of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Plateau State Governor.
A seven-man panel of the court led by Chief Justice Muhammad Tanko in a unanimous decision held that the appellants against the election of Bala Mohammed, Mohammed Abubakar and his party, the APC failed to prove their case.
Justice Dattijo Mohammed, who read the lead judgment, therefore dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit.
In upholding the election of Lalong as the rightful winner of the 2019 governorship election in Plateau State, the seven-man panel also in a unanimous verdict held THAT Jeremiah Useni of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and his party failed to prove their case.
Justice Palu Galumje, who read the lead Judgment, dismissed the appeal for lacking in merit.
