The Police Public Relation Officer, ASP William Aya, who disclosed this during a news conference, said the autopsy was necessary because Soje, before committing suicide, had partial stroke.

The result of the autopsy, he said, would be made known as soon as it was ready.

Aya said the police were yet to get the note Soje wrote before committing suicide.

While pointing out that the family of the deceased were yet to report the case, Aya said “Police were notified of the development by the military intelligence office in the barracks.’’

He said the police later came to remove the body and took it to the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre.

Soje committed suicide a few days after his wife put to bed triplet after having been barren for a long time.

He was said to have been owed 11 months salary by the state government.

Although the state government confirmed that he was being owed, it was explained that his salary was stopped owing to age falsification on his part.

He was said to have been pardoned however and he was to be paid the arrears of the salary before he committed suicide.
