Igede National Youths Council has called the attention of government at all levels to a strange sickness ravaging a boundary settlement of Oye-Obi, Obi LGA of Benue State.
The group in a press statement signed by its President-elect, Mr. Andyson Egbodo said the sickness has so far killed four persons in two weeks while six others are down with similar symptoms.
According to the statement, the four victims, Happiness Ogbu, Onah Ogbedu, Andy Edu and Wisdom Agwo, developed the same symptoms of headache, internal heat, diarrhea, vomiting, stomach ache, weakness of the body and swollen stomach and died alike.

The youths who revealed that health authorities in Oju have been briefed called on the Benue State government to, as a matter of urgency, do all within its powers to arrest the situation.
The youths said they have embarked on mass mobilization and awareness campaign on how to prevent it’s spread pointing out that investigation revealed that about six more persons as at Wednesday, January, 29, 2020 are already down developing the same symptoms, with some of them already being moved to General Hospital, Oju.
They also called on members of the state assembly, national assembly, government appointees from Igede kingdom either with Benue State or Federal government to urgently rise up and fight “the dreaded sickness whose name we are yet to get from medical experts”.
