The aspiration of Femi Gbajabiamila, as the Speaker of the House of Representatives, has received a boost with the withdrawal of another contender to the Speakership position, Yusuf Buba.
Buba who announced his withdrawal from the Speakership race in Abuja during a press conference, said his decision was in obedience with the ruling party’s zoning arrangement.
He also cited equity and fairness as another reason for his action, stressing that since the APC has zoned the office of the Senate President to the North-East, it becomes appropriate to shelve his ambition.

Buba is representing Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency, Adamawa State.
The lawmaker said he has the support base and popularity to win the Speakership contest but as a party man, he has no choice than to go with the decision of the party.
The APC has zoned the office of the Speaker to the South-West and endorsed Gbajabiamila for the position.
The House will be inaugurated in June by President Muhammadu Buhari.
