The Presidency has said that the Department of State Services, DSS, does not the President permission to do its work.
The President was reacting to ongoing events between Mr. Omoyele Sowore, convener of #RevolutionNow Movement and the DSS.
According to the Presidency, Sowore is a person of interest to a security to the Department of State Services, by virtue of his antecedents.
Recall that the Department had on Friday re-arrested Sowore less than 24 hours after releasing him on bail on the orders of Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

Though reason has been given for the re-arrest, the manner of arrest has attracted a lot of criticism within and outside the shores of the land with many calling on the President to the operatives of the agency to order.
The Presidency in its reaction insisted that Sowore’s antecedents and actions ordinarily make him a person of interest to the DSS.
It contended that so far the agency had acted within its constitutional powers and did not need to seek Buhari’s approval to act on security matters.
The Presidency noted that no government would fold its alms and allow a country to be destabilised under it.
