The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project, SERAP, has written to the United States President, Mr. Donald Trump to intervene in the re-arrest of Mr. Omoyele Sowore, convener of RevolutionNow protest.
Sowore was re-arrested on Friday by DSS operatives at the premises of the Abuja Federal High Court less than 24 hours after he was released from a 124-days detention in the custody of the security agency.

SERAP in its letter posted on its Twitter handle on Saturday, reminded the American President that Sowore’s wife was an American citizen and as such the US needed to wade in.
The letter read: “Dear Donald Trump, Omoyele Sowore who is the husband of a US citizen Mrs. Opeyemi Sowore, was violently re-arrested yesterday inside the courtroom after the court has granted him bail.
“You’ve consistently committed to putting America first. That means speaking out for Sowore.”
