Miss Monica Osagie has affirmed that Professor Richard Akindele failed her because she refused to yield to his sexual demand.
Osagie is the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, student whose audio recording of her telephone conversation with one of her lecturers, Akindele, who demanded sex for marks, went viral.
She appeared before the probe panel set up by the university to look into the sex-for-mark scandal, on Tuesday and was accompanied by her counsel, Dr. Abiola Akinyode-Afolabi.
Speaking for Osagie shortly after the probe session which lasted about seven hours on the campus, Akinyode-Afolabi said the postgraduate student in the Masters of Business programme, told the panel that she passed the course in question before she was later failed by the lecturer.
The reason for the sudden change, she said Osagie told the panel, was because she refused to yield to Akindele’s demand for sex.

Akinyode-Afolabi who is also the Executive Director for Human Advocate Research and Documentation Centre, Abuja, said Osagie told the panel everything that happened between her and the lecturer.
She said the student added that the audio recording she made was to serve as evidence.
According to Akinyode-Afolabi, Osagie said she also reported the case of sexual harassment to some lecturer but nothing was done about it.
Some of the lecturers she said the case was reported to also appeared before the panel.
The counsel who expressed optimism that the case would teach others some lesson urged the panel to be thorough and ensure justice.
It would be recalled that during the initial sitting of the panel, Akindele was reported to have been guilty as charged.
He has since been suspended indefinitely.
The panel however said despite its invitation to Monica, she had refused to testify.
Hours after the claim, a group which spoke for Osagie, the Women Advocate Research and Documentation Centre, Abuja, said she was not properly invited.
The school authority in its reaction to the claim issued an invitation to Osagie.
She was scheduled to appear before the committee on Tuesday.
As scheduled, Osagie appeared before the panel which sat at the Pro -Chancellor’s Lodge on the campus on Tuesday.
Osagie attended the probe session with her lawyers.
Journalists, students and some members of the National Human Right Commission who were present to witness the session were barred by security men.
