The South West Zonal Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Alhaji Yakubu Suleiman, has called on Libya returnees to sensitise the public on the dangers of human trafficking.
Suleiman made the call on Wednesday when welcoming a new set of 166 returnees.
“You have seen it all and you are in the best position to sensitise and create awareness against the evils of human trafficking, as you have seen the dangers of seeking greener pastures in foreign lands,” he said.
Suleiman also disclosed that 611 Nigerians have voluntarily returned to Nigeria from Libya in March.
He said the returnees were assisted back to the country by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the European Union (EU).

He also spoke of the efforts by the federal and state government to rehabilitate and reintegrate the returnees through different schemes.
Suleiman called on the returnees to focus on the task of getting back on their feet and contributing their quota to national development.
The returnees arrived aboard a chartered Nouvelair Airbus aircraft which landed at 8.08 p.m. at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The returnees were made up of 101 male adults, two male children, 56 female adults, three female children and four female infants.
