The Senate has adjourned sitting until September 25.
Senate President, Bukola Saraki, announced the adjournment at plenary on Tuesday.
The adjournment resulted from the recent attacks on the leadership of the Senate.
Earlier in the day, Saraki escaped the siege laid to his residence to be able to attend plenary.
Similarly, a siege was laid to the residence of his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu.

On Monday, Saraki had been summoned by the Inspector General of Police to shed more light on his alleged involvement in Offa robbery in Kwara State.
No fewer than 31 people were killed.
The police claimed that some of the suspects held in connection with the robbery claimed to be his thugs and that he supplied them arms.
Saraki had since dismissed the latest invitation by the police as a ploy to frustrate the plan by some legislators to defect to the leading opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, from the ruling All Progressives Congress.
