Sen. Akon Eyakenyi, Senator representing Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District, has raised alarm over fraudsters using her name on social media.
Eyakenyi stated this while interacting with journalists in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom on Tuesday.
She disclosed that her office had been inundated with several cases of fraudulent people using her name to dupe innocent and unsuspecting members of the public.
“Fraudsters used my pictures to defraud people on facebook. Some people use my pictures and other people’s pictures. Mine is very very rampant.

“I am not on Facebook, I don’t chat with anybody on Facebook, I don’t chat with anybody on messenger, I am not on Twitter, I am not on histogram but people used my pictures and send friends’ request as soon as you accept, they start chatting with you as if I am the one talking,” she said.
She complained that many people had been duped of huge sums of money.
“Fraudsters have duped so many people, collecting money from them that I will give them jobs or contracts.
“There is one woman who fell victim and paid fraudsters N350,000. Please if you come across any one on facebook that tells you good morning in my name, please it is not me.
“I will never go on facebook, try and pass the message on your people so that they don’t fall victim again,” Sen. Eyakenyi said. (NAN)
