The Midwest Movement has called for the immediate arrest of leaders of the Coalition of Northern Groups over their recent ultimatum and threat following the suspension of the proposed RUGA programme by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Following the announcement by the President that RUGA had been suspended, the Coalition addressed a Press conference on Wednesday where they issued an ultimatum to the federal and state governments to “stop this raging madness within 30-days” from that day or face the consequences.

In a press statement on Saturday, issued Don Pedro on behalf of the two states of Edo and Delta, which make up the Midwest, they demanded the arrest of Abdul Azeez Sulaimon, who was the spokesman of the groups.

Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, in the press conference, said the debate to whether or not to accept the programme was already causing disaffection for herders.

In their press statement, the Midwest Movement urged the security agencies not waste further time in arresting all the leaders of the coalition as their utterances were capable of setting the nation on fire.
