Following the revolution now protests in some parts of the country, the Benue state police command has deployed adequate security personnel in the state to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
The Next Edition observed that there was heavy presence of police personnel at most points and junctions in Makurdi, the state capital, especially the road leading to the state command headquarters.
Explaining the heavy police presence at the command headquarters in Makurdi, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Catherine Anene said there was no protest in the state neither was there a cause for alarm.
She explained that the command was just being proactive. “Nothing happened. But we don’t want it to happen before we come out, that is why you see policemen on the road.
“We have deployed adequate personnel round the state and a signal has been sent to all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers, DPOs, to be at alert to prevent any situation,” Anene said.
