The presidential election petition tribunal has granted access to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and President Muhammadu Buhari to inspect the materials used for the presidential poll.
The order followed an ex parte motion filed by Buhari and the APC through their lawyers.
Arguing their motion before the three-man panel led by Justice Abdu Aboki on Thursday, the applicants’ lawyers said they needed to inspect the materials in order to defend themselves in case of a petition.

In its ruling the tribunal gave permission to the applicants to inspect the materials and obtain the certified through copies of the documents from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
INEC had declared Buhari winner of the election with 15,191,847 votes while his closest challenger, Atiku had polled 11,262,978 votes.
