President, Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has emerged winner in the 2019 Presidential elections.
He polled a total of 15,191,848 votes to beat the other contenders to the office.
His closest rival, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, polled won 11,262,975 votes.
Buhari won in 19 states of the federation while Atiku was victorious in 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The large numbers for Buhari came from Kano, Katsina and Kaduna. In Kano, he garnered 1, 464, 768 votes. Katsina, his home state gave him 1, 232, 133 while he received 993,445 from Kaduna.
Mr. Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, however could not poll such numbers from his strongholds.
His best numbers of 649, 612 came from Kaduna followed by Delta and Plateau which gave 594, 068 and 548, 665 respectively
Buhari, therefore defeated Atiku with a wide margin of 3,928,873 to ensure that he remains Nigeria’s President for the next four years.
