President Muhammadu Buhari has described his re-election as humbling.
He was declared winner by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, in the early hours of Wednesday.
Buhari who was the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, polled 15,191,847 votes to defeat his major challenger, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who garnered 11,262,978 votes in the election held on Saturday, February 23, 2019.

In a brief address to members of his campaign team at the party’s campaign secretariat, Buhari thanked Nigerians for their support and the opportunity given him to serve another four years.
He equally thanked the National Chairman of the Party, Adams Oshiomhole, the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Campaign Council APCCO, Rotimi Amaechi, and the National Chairman of the APC, Bola Tinubu, among others for their contributions to his success.
Buhari assured Nigerians that he would continue to run an all-inclusive government.
He said,”I am deeply humbled that you found me worthy of continuing to serve you.”
