The Presidency has replied Obasanjo over his latest attack in which he described President Muhammadu Buhari a failure that should not be voted for in the coming election.
Obasanjo was merely repeating himself, the Presidency said.
It stressed that the reply it gave to Obasanjo’s open statement in January warning Buhari not to run for a second term on the basis that he had failed the nation remained relevant.
The reply to Obasanjo’s statement in January was by the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in which he gave details of the achievements of Buhari’s administration.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, in a telephone interview on Channels Television said the latest attack was a mere repetition.

His words: “Already, the statement issued few months ago by the Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed, in response to the earlier criticism made against the government by Obasanjo had adequately addressed the issues raised.’’
Obasanjo launched his latest attack on Buhari at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State, while hosting the New Nigeria Group on Monday.
According to him, Buhari was a failure and to re-elect him was to reinforce failure.
His words: “The first lesson I learnt in my military training is to never reinforce failure. What we have now is a failure.
“Never you re-inforce failure. Let failure be failure. And if you do not see what you should see, you will then be a victim of what you don’t like because it’s only when you see what you should see and you do what you should do that you put away what you do not like.
“Those of you who are into business know that by now you could have been better if we have an effective government. The truth is this – when you have an ineffective and incompetent government, we are all victims and don’t let anybody deceive you.”
