The police in Katsina have killed eight bandits in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The bandits were among those who invaded and killed two elderly residents in a village in the local council of Batsari on August 6.
A statement issued by the police spokesman, Gambo Isah, said the police team, which went after the bandits, was ambushed, leading to a shootout with the outlaws.

One of the bandits was shot dead, while others escaped with injuries, according to the police spokesman.
However, he said seven bodies of the bandits were later discovered by a search party.
Isah said further that the police recovered 30 rustled cows and N22,300 cash from the bodies of the dead bandits.
