The Police Command in Bauchi State has arrested a 30-year-old man, Yahaya Musa for allegedly sodomising a 12-year-old boy at Miya village in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of the state.

The Command also arrested nine other suspects for various offences in the state in the past four weeks.

This is contained in a statement by the Spokesman of the Command, SP Ahmed Wakil on Thursday in Bauchi.

He said that the suspect lured the boy (names withheld) into his shop at Miya village and forcefully had anal sex with the victim twice.

The spokesman said that the police had arrested nine other suspects in various raids conducted as part of campaign to rid the state of criminal activities.

He listed the offences to include criminal consiracy, robbery, culpable hormcide, rape, sodomy, theft, among others.

Wakil said the police also recovered two locally made pistols, five cartridges and three motorcycles, adding that the suspects would be charged to court soon.

The statement quoted the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Umar Sanda, as reiterating the commitment of the command to protect lives and property in the state.

The CP urged residents of the state to cooperate with the police, be vigilant and security conscious, (NAN)
