Police Arrest 7 Suspects Over Burglary In Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command on Wednesday says it has arrested seven suspects who allegedly burgled a warehouse in Ado-Ekiti.

DSP Sunday Abutu, the command’s Spokesperson disclosed this in a statement in Ado-Ekiti, said the suspects were arrested by the police following credible information from members of the public.

“The command on Dec. 12, received a credible information that a warehouse at Km 4, Iworoko Road in Ado-Ekiti was being burgled by unknown thieves.

“Upon receipt of the report, the command’s operatives swung into action and mobilised to the scene, arrested seven suspects namely- Donne Houndetounkpo, 25, Coker Akeem, Adewole Olatunde 31, Olowosile Bukinmi 25, Ajileye Deborah 30, Paul Jonati 32 and Ojo Micheal 31,” he said.

Abutu said the suspects during interrogation allegedly confessed to the commission of the crime and mentioned one Akinleye Ojo as one of the gang members who escape arrest.

He said effort is ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect, while those arrested would be charged to court after investigation.

Abutu implored the public to remain law abiding and report suspicious movements in their localities to security agencies. (NAN)
