The Plateau State Police Command has arrested Fulani and community leaders from Mangu, Bokkos, Barkin Ladi and Riyom local government areas of the State over the recent attacks in the state that have left about 33 persons dead.
The arrested leaders are said to have been taken to Abuja for further interrogation.
Recall that Governor Simon Lalong had after an emergency security meeting with heads of security agencies in the state given the State Police Commissioner, Isaac Akinmoyede, a marching order to arrest the Fulani and community leaders of the affected communities.
He had wondered how the attacks could happen and people get killed, yet the police say no arrest.
He further wondered if the perpetrators of the attacks were spirits.

Meanwhile, Daily Trust reported that the arrest had been stalled when the Fulani Ardos claimed that the governor’s order was not directed at them.
However, CP Akinmoyede had ordered the leaders to reconvene at the Police headquarters the following day. Our correspondent gathered from sources at the headquarters that on their arrival, they were asked to make individual statements in which some of them were released.
As at 4:00am on Thursday, according to Daily Trust, Ardos from Riyom, Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu as well as the Chairmen of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association in Nigeria and some community and youth leaders were bundled into vehicles and whisked away to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at the Police headquarters in Abuja.
Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ubah Gabriel confirmed the development and said, “for every Ardo that was moved to Abuja, an equivalent of the community leader from that area was equally picked and taken to Abuja.”
