The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ahmed Makarfi, on Friday survived a multiple car crash along Abuja-Kaduna Highway.
His spokesperson, Dayo Adeyeye, in a statement said both the party chairman and all the occupants of his vehicle survived the accident.
“The chairman and all other passengers in his vehicle came out unhurt,” he stated.
“This is to allay the fears of our Party members, teeming supporters, and well-wishers who heard of the accident and have been making frantic calls; as well as those who may stumble on half-baked information.”
The Supreme Court had recently declared Mr. Makarfi as the authentic leader of the PDP after a prolonged crisis.
Earlier, the Court of Appeal in Port Harcourt had confirmed former Borno Governor, Ali Modu Sheriff as the chairman of the party.
The PDP has been enmeshed in a leadership crisis after it lost the 2015 presidential election to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
