The Director General of Atikulated Agenda 2019, a pressure group canvassing for the Alhaji Atiku Abubakar Presidency, Chief Emeka Kalu, has warned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against nominating an unpopular candidate for the 2019 presidential election.

Kalu, who spoke on Saturday, advised that knowing that the incumbent, President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC), would be in the race, the PDP must nominate a competent, popular grassroots aspirant, popular among the common people, to be able to snatch victory at the poll.

Kalu said: “No matter what you may think, the truth of the matter is that the ruling party will exploit all its chances to win the election. For that reason, we also need to bring all our arsenal to work by nominating the best. We cannot afford to lose the coming presidential elections because that will mean doom for Nigeria.

“Atiku remains the person that can take power from the APC. We must look beyond friendship or personal expectations and let us all work collectively to get power out of this government.”

He challenged all supporters of Atiku Abubakar to put more efforts in convincing the masses and delegates on why Atiku should be chosen and the consequences of PDP losing such an important election.

Kalu maintained that he was certain Nigerians would do the needful by voting for Atiku once nominated.
