The countenance of almost all around is that of seriousness and some amount of tension.

Before the commencement of the election, it was announced that some aspirants had withdrawn from the race.

They are Jimi Agbaje, Chief Olabode George, former Oyo State governor, Rasheed Ladoja.

Tunji Ishola who was vying for the National Deputy Chairman South was also reported to have withdrawn from the race.

According to finding by The Next Edition, they withdrew from the race in order to support Professor Adeniran, seeing that Uche Secondus has the backing of most of the governors.

The men, it was gathered, withdrew for the interest of the South-West.

As it is, it may be a straight fight between Secondus and Adeniran.

A delegate of the South West who pleaded anonymity said, “If Adeniran does not emerge as chairman at the end of the day there will be problems.”

Senator Ademola Adeleke also told The Next Edition: “I am in support of the South West to produce the chairman.”

When asked if there would be problems if his candidate does not win, he said, “The party is bigger than any individual. There is a committee already there to appease aggrieved persons. We will be fine.”

It would be recalled that earlier in the day, the atmosphere was like that of a carnival.
