The preparation for the Osun State governorship election re-run intensified on Monday with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, lobbying the Social Democratic Party, SDP, candidate, Iyiola Omisore.
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, led a team to Ile Ife in Osun to discuss with Omisore over the need to secure his support to be able to ensure the victory of the PDP governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke.
The party also planned to lobby other leading candidates in the election.
If they succeed, supporters of Omisore and others would vote for the candidate of the PDP.

Saraki expressed optimism that Adeleke would become the next governor of Osun State as he said he believed that he would win the re-run.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, declared the Saturday governorship election in Osun State inconclusive owing to irregularities in some parts of the state during the exercise.
It therefore announced that a re-run would hold on Thursday.
