Members of Oshodi/Isolo Constituency II have showered praises on Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson, member representing the constituency at the House of Representatives, for making good his promise of ensuring that the constituents have smooth ride on roads in their constituency.

Emeka Sampson, constituent, told select journalists who visited the construction site on Tuesday, that he was particularly happy because the lawmaker announced during his programme, ‘Meet Your Member of Parliament’ 10 days ago, that he wrote to the state government on the dilapidated state of some roads in the constituency.

Sampson said: “He told us that in the next couple of days, work would commence on some of the roads. True to what he said, work is ongoing now. We have never had this kind of representative before. We thank God for blessing us with a proactive leader.”

Another constituent, Oluwatosin Adeyemi, supported Sampson when she said the lawmaker was God-sent.

She maintained that the poverty alleviation programmes that the lawmaker embarked upon few months ago on assumption of office, had helped to put food on the tables of some constituents.

“I have goods in my shop now because he gave me money to stock my shop, through ‘Meet Your MP’. You can see what he is doing for us.

“In fact, when he said that work would soon commence on some roads, we did not know that it would be so soon. Johnson is a man of integrity. He meets with his constituents every month, it has never happened before in this constituency,” she said.

A statement by Johnson’s media aide, Oladotun Oladapo, on Tuesday, read in part: “We are glad to inform the general public that work has commenced on some roads within the Oshodi/Isolo federal constituency 2, in pursuance of the letter, written to the Special Adviser, Lagos State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Mrs. Aramide Adeoye, titled ‘Request for Rehabilitation of some Roads in my Constituency’, which was copied, Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat and the General Manager, Public Works Corporation, Olufemi Daramola.

“I can happily tell you that at the moment, work is ongoing at Lateef Salami street, Afariogun street, Ejigbo/NNPC road, and more would be added to the list.”
