In fulfilment of his promise to improve the condition of public schools in the state, Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has commissioned some school and water projects executed by his administration at St. Patrick’s Primary School Aokpe, Okpokwu Local Government Area, for the benefit of the community.

The school projects were three blocks of three classrooms each with a headmaster’s office, staff room and a store recently constructed in the school district.

Gov. Ortom also commissioned four motorised boreholes to provide water for the school and the entire community.

Addressing the people of Aokpe, the Governor said contract had been awarded by the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, for the reconstruction of the remaining structures in the school and neighbouring communities.

He stated earlier during a thanksgiving service held at Aokpe Pilgrimage Centre that his previous visit to the holy ground where he prayed God to grant him victory on his reelection was not in vain, stressing that more projects would be commissioned for the people before the end of his second tenure.

The Governor, who also built, furnished and donated a befitting chapel to the Pilgrimage Centre, expressed appreciation to the people of Aokpe for the warm reception accorded him on his earlier visit, saying their prayers gave him and others victory at the polls.

Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Abba Moro said Ortom’s mantra of “In God We Trust” was not a fallacy.

He said Gov. Ortom was the first Chief Executive to visit and attract such level of development to the Pilgrimage Centre, stressing that because of his passion for the community, the Governor had visited to personally inspect ongoing projects to ensure they were executed according to specifications.

Members of the community expressed gratitude to the Governor for his developmental strides in the community and promised to support his administration by protecting the facilities.
