Members of the Ondo State House of Assembly have commenced the process of removing the deputy governor, Mr. Agboola Ajayi.
The members of the Assembly are currently deliberating in the Assembly on the allegation of gross misconduct against Ajayi.
Heavily armed policemen and the men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps are reportedly present to maintain the law and order.

The impeachment process may not be unconnected to his decision to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), where he has indicated interest to contest the governorship election governor against Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who is seeking a second term in office.
Akeredolu had sacked all the aides attached to Ajayi’s office. His security details were withdrawn until Mohammed Adamu, inspector-general of police (IGP), intervened to restore them.
