Funke Akindele-Bello’s 2020 comedy movie, ‘Omo Ghetto: The Saga,’ has become the highest grossing Nollywood movie, breaking the four year box office record held by The Wedding Party, Kemi Adetiba’s 2016 movie.
The ‘Wedding Party’ made N453,000,000 at the box office.
Akindele-Bello’s movie was released in December 25, 2020, as a sequel to ‘Omo Ghetto,’ released in 2010.

The movie was produced by Funke Akindele and JJC Skillz and featured Funke Akindele who played a dual role, Tina Mba, Adebayo Salami, Chioma Akpotha, Bimbo Thomas, Eniola Badmus, Deyemi Okanlawon, Zubby Michael, Mercy Aigbe, Timini Egbuson and Alex Ekubo.
Funke Akindele-Bello has been trending on Twitter Nigeria as congratulatory messages are pouring in for this feat.
According to a statement published by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) on Tuesday, January 26, it grossed N468,036,300, in Cinema revenues after maintaining the number one spot for three weeks.
