The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr Afolabi Afuape, made the disclosure on Friday in Abeokuta.

Adesokan who is at present on international engagement has been adjudged the best in the country.

Adesokan defeated her opponents in various competitions, including Kenya International Series 2013 where she won a gold and a bronze medal.

Adesokan also won three bronze medals at the All African Senior Championship (South Africa 2017) and two gold medals at the 1st Mutual Benefit Assurance National Badminton Championship (Lagos 2017).

Speaking on the job offer, the commissioner said it would enable the government to keep a close watch on the athlete in order to ensure better grooming in subsequent competitions.

The commissioner said the state government would not limit the encouragement to her, saying the gesture would be extended to those in other sports.

He pointed out that the best way to develop sports in the country was to discover young talents at the grassroots.

He gave the assurance that, as a means of developing sports, government would provide good facilities to encourage young talents.
