Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has described the dethronement of Lamindo Sanusi as Emir of Kano as undeserved.
Reacting to the removal of the 14th Emir by the Kano State Government on Monday, Obasanjo however, described the development as a price which the former monarch paid for his chosen path.
Obasanjo’s reaction was contained in a letter he personally signed and addressed to the deposed monarch on Monday.

The letter which he addressed to “Your Royal Highness and Brother,” read: “I woke up this morning and after my morning exercise and my morning meeting with my staff, I heard the sad and good news of your removal by the Executive Council of the Kano State Government.
“It is sad because it is undeserved. It is good because you have paid the price. “My prayer is that God should give you the fortitude and courage to continue on the path that you have chosen for yourself in the best interest of our country and humanity.
“Please accept, Your Royal Highness, the assurances of my highest considerations.”
