NiMet predicts isolated thunderstorms, cloudy conditions on Saturday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted cloudy conditions for Saturday with isolated thunderstorms over Abuja, Jalingo, Mambila Plateau, Minna, Lafia and Yola in the morning with isolated thunderstorms over Jos, Bauchi, Abuja and Yola in the afternoon.

NiMet disclosed this in a Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Friday with day and night temperatures of 29 to 32 degrees Celsius and 19 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively, except Jos with 26 to 17.

The agency predicted that the northern states would experience cloudy condition in the morning over northeast with isolated thunderstorms over Northwest like Gusau, Sokoto, Kebbi, Katsina and Kano.

It stated that later in the day Sokoto and Kebbi will be affected by thunderstorms while the North eastern states will be cloudy with day and night temperature of 31 to 35 and 20 to 24 degree Celsius.

According to NiMet, cloudy conditions are expected over the inland cities and the coast with chances of localised rains over Enugu, Benin, Owerri and Port Harcourt in the morning.

It said later in the day, there would be prospect of localised thunderstorms over the region with the south east coast expected to witness intermittent rains with day and night temperature of 28 to 32 Degrees Celsius and 22 to 23 Degrees Celsius.
