NiMet predicts dust haze weather for Thursday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted dust haze conditions in horizontal visibility range of two to five kilometres over the central states of the county on Thursday.

NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Wednesday also predicted day and night temperatures in the range of 26 to 36 and 10 to 19 degrees Celsius respectively.

It further predicted that localised visibility of less than or equal to 1000m was likely over few cities around the central region during the forecast period.

The agency predicted that the southern states would experience early morning mist/fog over the coastal cities to give way to partly cloudy condition during the forecast period.

It also predicted dust haze condition over the inland cities throughout the forecast period with day and night temperatures in the range of 33 to 37 and 16 to 22 degrees Celsius respectively.

According to NiMet, Northern states will experience dust haze condition in reduced horizontal visibility range of two to five kilometres and localised visibility of less than or equal to 1000m in few cities throughout the forecast period.

The northern cities are also expected to experience day and night temperatures in the range of 26 to 30 and 9 to 14 degrees Celsius respectively.

“The northern, central states and the inland cities are anticipated to experience dust haze condition.

“The coastal areas are envisaged to witness early morning mist/fog patches and partly cloudy sky later in the day within the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted.
