A former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, has called on directors of Nollywood to employ Nigerian senators as actors.
Her call came on the heels of the drama in the National Assembly on Wednesday when the senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, refused to sit in his usual position where members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, are seated.
Melaye said he preferred to sit with members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The move inspired a rowdy session with the APC members rejecting the move by Melaye while those in the PDP welcome the development.

Reacting to the development, the human rights activist took to her twitter page to complain about how the senators made a joke of the plight of Nigerians by their display on the floor of the Senate.
“We should plead with the movie directors in our Nollywood to help relieve us of the burden of what is today’s Nigeria’s Senate led by Bukola Saraki. Take them in and use acting skills there. A nation & people struggling daily from effects of Governance Failure don’t deserve them,” she tweeted.
She added that there would be a campaign soon, saying “Never again” to such characters parading themselves as senators.
“Shortly, we shall all look at what is today’s National Assembly and declare: Never Again! Our Lawmaking organ must never again be filled with these kinds of fellas that have turned the National Assembly into a theatre. See how they are trifling with the destiny of a nation & its people,” she said.
