Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Pray For Country's Unity, Development In Jerusalem

Nigerian Christian pilgrims on pilgrimage to Israel converged in Jerusalem on New Year Day to collectively pray for God’s blessings and unity in Nigeria.

The pilgrims, who were the first batch from FCT  and the third batch  from Plateau State 2019 pilgrimage, NEXT EDITION gathered in Lagos, organised a prayer session on Nigeria’s behalf.

Men of God from different dominations took turn to commit Nigeria unto the Lord’s hands, prayed for the leadership of the country at all tiers of government, the legislature and the judiciary as well as the country’s development.

In his sermon titled, ‘The Church and the Glory of the Nation’, Bishop Michael Akpami, said Jesus had the glory of God and He had transferred it to the church and that the church should be the torch bearer, if Nigerians must see the glory of the nation.

Bishop Akpami, Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), took his text from John 17:22-23, declaring that the church must be up and doing so that its glory could shine and make positive impact on the nation.

He highlighted three things that the church must do to bring glory to the nation, which included influence the country positively as there had been much divisions.

He added that the church as the custodian of righteousness, must live in righteousness, live right and stay far away from sin, adding that doing so would make Nigeria more blessed spiritually, physically, economically, morally, and socially.

Earlier, the Director, FCT Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr. Audu Vingo Dabara, said the prayer was to commit Nigeria into God’s hands for all round ransformation.
