The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has made a donation of N100million to the Borno Government.
The donation was presented to Governor Babagana Zulum on Wednesday by the Chairman of the NGF and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi.
A statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by NGF Head, Media and Public Affairs, Abdulrazaque Bello-barkindo disclosed that Fayemi visited Maiduguri, to solidarise with Gov. Zulum on the recent attacks on his convoy.
The NGF Chairman was accompanied by the governor of Sokoto State and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum, Aminu Tambuwal, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Sen. Abubakar Bagudu as well as the governor of Plateau and Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum, Simon Lalong.
The statement quoted Fayemi as saying that Nigeria owes the Borno people a duty to end the insurgency and nip it in the bud.
He advised Zulum to be cautious in his activities in the state.

According to the statement, Fayemi recalled how Zulum attempted to dissuade them from visiting his state, saying he insisted that it was not just a duty but the most realistic thing to do because “an attack against one is an attack against all.”
Responding, Zulum thanked the NGF for the kind gesture, saying it is not the amount of money, but the gesture behind that matters.
He promised to be careful in the way he moved around in his state.
Zulum, however, said that he would not be deterred from pursuing his goals of freeing his people saying, “security and development are two sides of the same coin.”
