Janet Agbade, the newly posted Abia State Commissioner of Police, has described her deployment to the state as a serious challenge going by result expected from her, being the first female police boss since state’s creation.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, had last Tuesday redeployed former Abia State Commissioner of Police, Eneh Okon, to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, while Agbade was deployed to the state as the new CP.
However, the change of baton in command’s leadership took place at the weekend between Okon and Agbade.
Speaking to newsmen, Agbede said her being a woman would not deter her from performing her duties, but would spur her the more to put in her best.

She solicited the cooperation of the government and people of the state to make the place uncomfortable forr criminals.
She said: “You know women are sensitive with their environment and that will spur me to fish along with my officers the bad eggs in Abia State.
“It is a tough state, but with the already existing structure on ground, I will improve on the structure on ground alongside with the capable officers to meet with Force wherever the crime will be coming from.
“But, at the same time, I want those criminals around Abia State to move away from the state because there are strategies we will put in place to make them change their minds from criminality.”
Agbede, who until her new positing, was Commissioner of Police in charge of welfare, said before arriving the state, the IGP had mandated her to free the state of criminals.
